Here are a few of the trends we spotted at this year’s Milan MIFUR 2014 show.
We’ve got the blues
A trend we’ve seen on the catwalks as well as at the furriers, cobalt blue is featured brightly on accessories, pelts, and coats.
We loved the small patchwork patterns created on both plaques and garments. Mostly multicoloured, these designs are a great opportunity to use smaller pieces and still create a beautiful item.
While it might be winter, short sleeved furs were a big trend at this year’s show. Worn with long gloves or heavy knits underneath for winter, or lighter items in spring and wall, these pieces are versatile and light.
Multicoloured, tone on tone, or mixed materials, we saw a lot of jackets and coats constructed from skinny strips of fur. They work horizontally or vertically, and add a new dimension to some classic shapes.
Shades of Yellow
Mustard, sunflower, and lemon yellows were on display this season. Expect to find smaller items or press pieces in these tones as yellow is a hard sell, but merchandises beautifully in retail and turns heads on the street.
