DAY 1

March 12, 2016

The American Legend March 2016 auction began today with an offering of Blackglama, Mahogany, and Demi males. A 2016 record-crowd of 600 buyers actively competed resulting in increasing price levels. Blackglama males advanced 10 – 15% over recent North American auctions, Mahogany males also advanced by 10%.  Blackglama and American Legend brands, combined with exceptional quality short nap mink, continue to be the preferred mink among all markets contributing to price premiums achieved at auction.  China was the main buyer of male mink with solid support from Greece and Russia.

The sale continues tomorrow with Blackglama, American Legend Mahogany females, Palomino, Pastel and Pearl male and female mink.

The success of day one of American Legend’s March auction continued into the second day with a full auction room again competing aggressively for Blackglama and American Legend mink. Blackglama, and American Legend Mahogany and Demi females sold 100% at advancing prices compared to the recent North American auction. Korea and China were the main buyers and showed a clear preference for the better qualities.

American Legend Palomino and Pastel males and females sold nearly 90% overall; comparisons are not available due to the low percent sold of comparable mink. China and Korea were the main buyers with support from Greece.
